Shakib started his cricket journey at a very early age. In 2005 he scored a century off just eight balls in the final of the Under-19 tri-nation series and With three wickets. Shakib signed a contract with the cricket board that year. He made his Test debut the following year in 2006.
Shakib took 34 runs and four wickets against West Indies in the first match of the ICC T20 World Cup in South Africa the same year. Shakib is the first Bangladeshi cricketer to take more than three wickets in T20. Shakib rose to number one in the 2009 ICC ODI All-Rounder Rankings due to his all-around achievements.
In just 22 years, Shakib became the youngest captain in Bangladesh and the fifth-youngest in world cricket history. Shakib Al Hasan is now number one in the ICC rankings as an allrounder. He is the first Bangladeshi bowler who takes 200wickets in tests.
He is the 1st cricketer who scored 600runs and even took ten wickets in a single world cup. He also ranked as the fastest cricketer to achieve 6000 runs and take 250 wickets in one day cricket by playing just 199match. He made his national team debut against Zimbabwe.
In the first game, he made 30 runs off 30 balls with the bat. His highest collection was with Mahmudullah in the seventh wicket partnership: 145 vs. New-Zealand, in 2010.
